Missing. Donkeys stolen for their skins

Every day, around 400 donkeys in Kenya are being killed for their skins. Many are stolen from their owners, often overnight, and their hide is shipped off to be used for traditional remedies overseas.

A recent survey conducted for Brooke has found that the UK public are largely unaware of how many horses died in the First World War, despite the fact the majority (80%) knew that horses were used in the conflict.

Horse lover Jen Olivier from Grendon, Northamptonshire has been fundraising for Brooke by dressing up as superhero Deadpool whilst competing at a horse show on Sunday 29 October.

Brooke global ambassador Charlotte DuJardin CBE was due to visit Ethiopia to see the charity’s work in October, however due to unforeseen security risks the trip has been cancelled. She was going to be accompanied by fellow elite dressage rider Alice Oppenheimer.
