Brooke has launched a new project in Mexico to help horses working in a refuse and recycling centre in San Martin, Puebla State. The horses are some of the most vulnerable of the 12.8 million working equine animals in Mexico.
On the 16 November 2015 international and national policy stakeholders, researchers and civil society organisations gathered in London for a Brooke-hosted one day policy conference. The title of the event was “Invisible Livestock: Highlighting the multiple contributions of livestock to livelihoods and national economies”.
A crowd are seen showing concern for the horse, and it's owner eventually unhitches it so it can stand.
World ranked number one, Charlotte Dujardin, the double Olympic gold medallist, has given Brooke some of her most cherished possessions from her competition career, including items worn at the London 2012 Olympics, for an exclusive auction which hopes to raise much needed funds to help hard working horses, donkeys and mules around the world.
Fifty years ago an innovative report was published which outlined a practical animal welfare framework for animal owners and carers around the world. Brooke, along with many other institutions, governments, academia and industry, still uses this framework today.
Today is #GivingTuesday – a day for everyone to come together to make the world a better place.
Yesterday Pakistan was hit by shock waves from an earthquake which started in Afghanistan. We bring you another update from our team in Pakistan.
Global Equine Welfare charity Brooke is giving shoppers the chance to escape the consumerist squabble of Black Friday this year and offering the opportunity to buy virtual gifts for loved ones. The gifts, priced from £9 - £106 will help working horses, donkeys and mules in developing countries around the world, where people rely on their working animals to earn a living.
The Sir Peter O’Sullevan Charitable Trust will have its first annual lunch today since the death of its namesake and Brooke's Patron, Sir Peter O’Sullevan. Sir Peter passed away earlier this year at the age of 97.
