Senior Supporter Contact Officer            

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supporter Care or Customer Service professional to join our high performing Supporter Contact Team at Brooke.  You will co-ordinate the daily priorities for the Supporter Contact Team, take the lead on training and ensuring the team have up to date briefs and other information, and be the key liaison with the Community Fundraising Team. You will engage with and steward both existing and potential supporters; always with a view to providing a first class donor experience whilst also seeking to retain and increase support of Brooke.

You will be joining a busy team, working very closely with your immediate colleagues as well as the Donation and Fulfilment, Community Fundraising and Direct Marketing teams to ensure excellent Supporter Care at every stage, for every supporter who interacts with us.

You will have significant experience of working within a Supporter Care or Customer Services team in a supervisory or team leader position, able to communicate effectively with different audiences via various channels and be able to demonstrate a passion for Brooke’s cause and talk confidently about our operational work. You can motivate a team, and make independent decisions about priorities.

You will need to be able to multitask effectively, and remain calm and professional when dealing with complex queries and complaints and support others to do so.  You need to be suited to both working reactively to changing demands on the team but also be able to plan ahead to ensure team resources are used efficiently by working closely with the Supporter Contact Manager.

Information Governance & Security Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Information Governance & Security Manager to join our dedicated Legal team here at Brooke. You will engage with many members of the Brooke team, from developing and delivering training, to working with the Head of IT to implement various changes.

We are looking for a committed and motivated individual who is able to work quickly and accurately under pressure whilst being able to manage their own priorities and workloads. You will need to have detailed knowledge of GDPR and the Data Protection Act and have a strong understanding of the legal and political context of this legislation.

We need people who are able to work independently and demonstrate the skills to lead when creating new processes and implementing governance requirements. You will be suited to dealing with confidential issues, only sharing information where appropriate.

The role will ensure that the charity remains compliant with statutory and regulatory obligations. They will be expected to keep up-to-date with changes to regulations and have the skills to build effective relationships and achieve co-operation from others.

You will need a honours degree or equivalent in any subject and have a knowledge and understanding of IS027001, Cyber Essentials and PCI-DSS.  The successful applicant will be a holder of a relevant Data Protection qualification (e.g. CIPP/E or CIPM) or working towards such a qualification.

Campaigns Co-ordinator for Donkey Hide Trade (Nairobi)

Brooke is looking to recruit a Campaigns Coordinator who will coordinate all campaign efforts in realising the ban. The position holder will work with Brooke EA, its partner organizations as well as Brooke UK in organising and mobilising public opinion leaders, key stakeholders, decision makers and policy influencers/ makers to support Brooke’s position on donkey hide trade. The Campaigns Coordinator will report to the Regional Director/ CEO.

From 2009 census, Kenya had a population of 1.8 million donkeys. However, with the licensing of four slaughter houses in Kenya slaughtering approximately 1000 donkeys per day, has seen theft of donkeys go up as well as smuggling of donkeys from neighbouring countries. Brooke is calling for a ban on the export of donkey skins and associated products from Kenya and a crackdown on cross border smuggling of donkeys into Kenya for their skins.
