Brooke Ethiopia Country Representative 

We are seeking an Ethiopia national to join Brooke’s Country Representative which is based in Addis Ababa, and will be Brooke’s key representative in Ethiopia. S/he is part of a global programme management team. S/he has responsibility for the leadership of a strategically cost-effective organisation, reflecting Brooke’s brand and delivering programmes that further the achievement of Brooke’s global strategy by increasing our impact; securing funding; delivering quality programme work and demonstrating accountability. In particular the post holder will demonstrate competency and be held accountable for:

  • Strategic leadership of Brooke’s business in Ethiopia 
  • Excellent programme delivery
  • A high performing team that is energetic, diverse, motivated and skilled
  • Excellent communication and representation of the programme across Brooke and to external stakeholders

This is a role for a seasoned development professional with a good understanding of results based management in practice and demonstrable experience of leading diverse and high performing teams across international settings to deliver those results. Software Developer (Contractor)

In this exciting contract role, you will work within a project team and have daily contact with the Systems Development Manager and other stakeholders in order to guarantee the success of the projects you are assigned to.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to progress your career as it's our ambition to continue the expansion of the current business model to include a greater emphasis on development.

The key skills that will be required are:

- Minimum of five years' web development which must have been gained within a commercial environment using Microsoft technologies.

- Knowledge and experience of producing data intensive client facing web applications.

- Fully experienced in n-tier architecture, and have developed within all three tiers, especially middle and UI tiers.

- Solid knowledge of the following technologies:  C#, MVC, ASP.NET, OOPS, LINQ, T-SQL, Ajax, JQuery, HTML, CSS and SQL Server 2008.

- Some exposure to mobile development (Xamarin) and Azure Cloud infrastructure would be advantageous.

- Exposure to full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), and familiar with iterative development methodologies.

Administrator (Programmes Directorate)

We are looking for an experienced and proactive administrator to provide key support to our dynamic and dedicated Programmes Directorate.

The role has three key responsibilities: smooth and effective team co-ordination; ensuring business processes are completed in an accurate, timely and cost efficient manner and supporting directorate information management and communications.

You will possess excellent organisational, administrative and IT skills and have a proven track record of supporting a team under time pressure, with great attention to detail. Experience of information management and developing/improving systems is also an important part of this role.

Interpersonal and communication skills are a key requirement, as you will be a main point of contact for the department, liaising regularly with other UK colleagues and overseas contacts.

You will need to be flexible to the adapting needs of the team and able to work with a diverse range of team members.

Corporate and Events Fundraising Officer

This is an exciting time to be joining Brooke as part of the Corporate and Community team. The team is expanding and we are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Corporate and Events fundraiser. The role is to support the Senior Products & Events Officer to maximise the income raised from a programme of established and new fundraising events, including running and challenge, mass participation and corporate fundraising events and products through the provision of a high level administration service. 

This role will help recruit new supporters to take part in our fundraising events and steward event participants and employees of corporate partners. You will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, share information where appropriate and contribute towards a positive team culture by engaging with and supporting others. Closing date: Sunday 29 July 2018

Brooke India CEO

She or he will demonstrate compassion for animal welfare and strong commitment to community development where empowerment and behaviour change can be shown.  She or he will have proven financial management experience for the oversight of grant agreements and budgets. As a result of his or her leadership Brooke will achieve increased scale and impact through new work reaching more equines with high quality work and innovation.
