Events Volunteer 

We are looking for a volunteer to join the Events team at Brooke to help us make some of our fundraising events as successful and engaging as possible. The work will be varied, but main projects will involve supporting the team in contacting businesses to ask for product donations to our Special Events and helping to administer communications relating to stewardship of Brooke fundraisers.

The events would include Brooke’s Christmas carol service as well as the ever-growing and popular MyHackathon.

A fluent English speaker with excellent writing skills and telephone manner is essential. There is an opportunity to gain skills relating to charitable business development, stewardship & customer service, IT systems, and copywriting amongst others.

Financial Controller 

As the charity enters the penultimate year of its Five-Year Strategy, the organisation is looking for a highly enthusiastic individual to lead the charity’s very professional finance team in raising the already high bar on financial accounting, planning and reporting to another level.

You will need to have proven experience of leading finance teams with a grounded knowledge of financial systems, charity reporting and the complexities of group consolidation within an international accounting environment.

To excel in this role you will need to be extremely well organised with the tenacity to meet high quality standards, time and again, that reinforce your professional and personal experience and attributes.

Supporter Administration Assistant 

This is an exciting time to be joining Brooke as part of the Donation and Fulfilment team.  You will be answering and transferring switchboard calls and speaking with our supporters.  This role includes covering our unmanned switchboard, opening the door to greet our guests and accept deliveries.

You will work as part of a busy Donation and Fulfilment team, underpinning the recruitment and retention of Brooke’s supporters and donors through the provision of a high level administration service.  This will include fulfilling material requests from our supporters and community fundraisers.

You will need to have excellent attention to detail, ensuring you meet the exacting standards required in the processing and thanking of our supporters’ generous donations.

You will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, sharing information where appropriate and contributing towards a positive team culture by engaging with and supporting others. 

Previous charity experience is not essential.

Global Community Development Advisor 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Brooke family in the role of Community Development Advisor at a time when the organization is evolving to focus on strengthening linkages with human development priorities to ensure greater sustainable impact for both animals and people. The Community Development Advisor post will act as a catalyst for change within the organisation: challenging, inspiring, guiding, and building the capacity of the organization to both strengthen the strategic linkages of our work to improve equine welfare with improving the livelihoods and well-being of equine owning communities, and affect human behaviour change to promote and sustain equine welfare improvements. Sustainable community development, strategic community engagement, and mainstreaming gender equality throughout our programme activities are critically important to our programmatic success, and comprise the core focus of work for this role.

We are looking for someone with extensive experience planning and implementing sustainable community development projects using participatory approaches within an international development context. You will need excellent facilitation and training skills, as well as strong analytical skills to be able to synthesize, use, and effectively promote understanding of complex information for learning and action across a diverse range of audiences and cultural contexts. You will possess excellent leadership skills, with the capacity to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, to inspire and motivate change. Excellent inter-personal skills, including listening and communication, tact, diplomacy, sensitivity and patience are essential qualities for fulfilling this position.

Digital Marketing Manager 

Brooke’s Fundraising and Communications directorate is embarking on the implementation of an ambitions digital programme to support our fundraising and profile building targets for the next two years, and beyond. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly collaborative digital lead who will help us achieve this. 

We are looking for someone who has managed digital operations in a small to medium charity and are ready to take a step up. You will lead, support and inspire our fundraising and communications teams to develop effective digital supporter journeys. A facilitative approach is essential, together with supporter journey design experience and a strong understanding of digital marketing techniques, testing and evaluation. You will need determination and enthusiasm to facilitate this change process amongst a highly skilled and target-focussed team of fundraising, marketing and communication professionals. We are ambitious and dedicated as well as collaborative and supportive and look forward to the right candidate joining our team.

Legacy Officer (Administration)

This is an exciting opportunity to assist with the effective administration of legacies in order to optimise the benefit from each estate in which the Brooke is a beneficiary.

The role will be responsible for administering a caseload of residuary and pecuniary legacies, and for supporting the Senior Legacy Officer and the wider team.  This will involve reviewing reversionary cases, dealing with incoming correspondence and payments, and handling calls from executors.  We can offer some flexibility over hours for a suitably qualified applicant.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be experienced in legacy administration, ideally having been responsible for a case load and have a strong track record of providing high quality administrative support.

Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise effectively to meet targets and deadlines are key for this role. As well as being able to work well independently, being a good team player is key, to work well collaboratively as part of the Legacy team and wider Fundraising Directorate.
