Meet Saliou, a Brooke-trained farrier

Watch this uplifting interview with Saliou - a 22 year old from Senegal who is well on the way to following in his grandfathers footsteps by becoming a farrier.

Saliou is a trainee on Senegal's first government accredited farriery course, made possible by Brooke West Africa. Once trained, Saliou and the next generation of farriers will shine a light on the suffering of working horses, donkeys and mules and help to improve hoof health for millions of working animals around the world.

Farriers are essential to keeping working animals healthy. Without the hoof care they provide, horses, donkeys and mules can end up in extreme pain walking miles on injured feet.
