Horses and mules - the bringers of chocolate

Love chocolate? We know we do! But did you know there’s a chance that a donkey, horse or mule played a part in its creation?

As you open your bar of chocolate, spare a thought for the horses and mules who transport cacao in Nicaragua for chocolate production. Brooke works with partners and the Cocoa Farmers Cooperative to train owners in welfare friendly handling techniques, and improving to general care for their animals such as providing adequate food and water. Animals like these are often overlooked.
