Runners raise over £15k for charity in London Landmarks Half Marathon

Henry Wallis raised money for Brooke and the Worshipful Company of Farriers (WCF) Charitable Trust, as a WCF member.

Nine dedicated runners have raised over £15,000 in aid of Brooke and the Worshipful Company of Farriers (WCF) Charitable Trust, after taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon last weekend.

On April 12 2026, Brooke supporters began the 13.1-mile route starting on Pall Mall and finishing near Downing Street - an extraordinary feat which mirrors the long distances working animals often must travel.

I was swept along with the energy of the day...we’ve raised the profile of Brooke’s work in a significant way.

Henry Wallis, Brooke supporter

Henry Wallis, from Gloucestershire, took on London Landmarks to support both Brooke and the WCF Charitable Trust, as a WCF member.

Henry, who has raised over £1,300 for both charities, learnt about Brooke after working with its farriers over the years and hearing about its “amazing work around the world.”

“The fact the (Half Marathon) goes through the old city, reinforces the link between the WCF as the oldest equine welfare organisation in the world and the important work Brooke is doing”, said Henry.

Brooke provides first class opportunities to those working with horses in low-resource environments, and if there’s anything I can do to support, I’m happy to help.

Marc Jerram, Brooke supporter

Marc Jerram, a working WCF farrier from Staffordshire, has raised over £1,000 for Brooke and the WCF Charitable Trust running the London Landmarks.

Marc is raising money to help Brooke fund education and resources for farriers in developing countries, where expertise and materials are in short supply.

"These animals work so hard and deserve the best help they can get", said Marc.

“It also helps that I’m a keen runner so can combine my two passions for one purpose!”

On 26 April 2026, Brooke supporters will also run the infamous London Marathon, helping to provide vital assistance to working animals and the communities who depend on them worldwide.
