How to leave a gift in your Will

There are different types of legacies to consider when leaving a gift in your Will.

Almost 66 per cent of Brooke's income comes from gifts in wills.

If you're considering helping working animals by leaving a gift to Brooke in your Will, it's important to understand that legacies to charities come in several different forms, for example:

  • A residuary legacy will leave Brooke a share or the whole of your estate after your other wishes and expenses have been met. It ensures your family are provided for first, and your gift may grow over time as the value of your estate increases.
  • A pecuniary legacy is the gift of a specific amount of money. By leaving a pecuniary legacy to Brooke you can fix an amount in your Will, but its value may be reduced over the years by inflation.
  • A specific legacy is the gift of a physical item or items in your Will, for example property or jewellery.
