Hannah Russell Q&A

Every Horse Remembered Q&A with Hannah Russell, author of the Little Alf series.

What does your horse mean to you?

Alfie is my world so I suppose you could say he means a great deal to me. I can't imagine life without him, he's always there whinnying by the gate every night, and in the morning he just brightens my day. He's not only my mini Shetland, he is also my best friend and partner in crime. He's there on the good days and the bad. We have so many happy memories together and I’m sure we will create many more over the next few years.

Why did you enjoy riding?

I used to ride up until I was 16 years old and I loved every minute of it, it was my childhood and every day I was out with the horses as much as I could be. When I used to ride I felt free because of the feeling of the wind in your hair and the horse’s movement is an amazing sensation!

Have horses got you through a difficult time?

100%! Alfie came to live with me when I felt very low as I had just found out that I wouldn't be able to ride again due to having fractured vertebras in my back and Alfie was there to give me a new focus.

"I’m supporting Brooke’s Every Horse Remembered campaign because...

"Horses can change lives. They can inspire millions and Brooke is helping raise awareness through hard work and dedication. Me and Alf are behind Brooke 110%!"
