Brooke and the Worshipful Company of Farriers launch farriery award

Brooke has partnered with The Worshipful Company of Farriers (WCF) on a new award scheme, celebrating the work of farriers globally.
The annual Farriery Progress Awards celebrates Brooke-trained farriers who have shown commitment to the welfare of working horses, donkeys and mules.
Salou Fall from Senegal, Zerihun Girma from Ethiopia, and Muhammad Maqbool from Pakistan were the 2025 award winners, recognised for their dedication to improving standards in the farriery trade.

Angus Wiseman, Brooke’s Global Farrier Advisor, said: “Each of the recipients have demonstrated a focused commitment to developing their own farriery knowledge and skill, as well as being proactive in sharing their learnings with their peers.
“In doing so, they are contributing significantly to improving the comfort and welfare of working animals lucky enough to be provided with their farriery care.”
Each winner was awarded with an engraved plaque, a personalised leather tool roll and essential farriery supplies – sponsored by UK farriery supplier, Stromsholm Ltd.

Brooke and the WCF will join forces again when members of the Company will run the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 12 April, raising funds for the charity and the WCF Charitable Trust.
Both organisations have a long-standing partnership over the years, with a shared aim of improving equine welfare.
Founded in 1356, the WCF promotes high standards of farriery and horse welfare. The award highlights the impact of Brooke’s Global Farriery Programme in improving equine welfare worldwide.
