Brooke helps 2,000 equines during Pakistan floods

Pakistan is facing its most destructive flooding season in regions to date.

Brooke has treated more than 2,000 horses, donkeys and mules in the wake of the devastating Pakistan floods.

Brooke Pakistan’s disaster relief response in Punjab and the north-west region has also:

  • Benefited more than 4,000 animal owning-communities

  • Helped 3,907 livestock and pets

  • Given 44 humans first aid

  • Provided 1,677 vaccinations and 30 first aid kits

  • Trained 56 volunteers

  • Provided more than 1,000 animal feed bags and 308 human ration bags.

We have also partnered with Pakistan’s Government Livestock Department to set up camps around flood areas in Punjab.

The worst regional flooding in the country's history has affected more than six million people since June 2025, destroying lives and livelihoods.

We are working around the clock to keep Pakistan’s working horses, donkeys and mules alive during this devastating crisis.

If these animals are neglected, then many families are affected. People will struggle to maintain their lives.

A lame horse’s recovery

In Narowal, a struggling horse became severely lame in one leg after slipping on a flooded road.

The horse’s owner, Anwar, urgently went to Brooke’s relief camp, whose team visited his animal in the nearby village.
