Trevor Lock hosts Kent comedy night in aid of working animals

Trevor Lock has supported comedian Stewart Lee on tour and appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Comedian and actor Trevor Lock has hosted a charity comedy night in Kent in aid of Brooke.

Trevor, who has supported comedian Stewart Lee on tour and appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe, performed a stand-up comedy set at The Eight Bells Country Pub and Kitchen in Hawkhurst on 27 November 2025.

£300 was raised for Brooke, helping to support the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules and the communities worldwide who depend on them to support their families.

Trevor Lock said: “Working horses and donkeys have always quietly served us, suffered for us, and somehow kept their gentleness. They taught me patience, resilience, and how to stand completely still while someone tries to put a hat on you."

Supporting Brooke now feels like carrying on the education they (working animals) started.

The night was organised by Brooke supporter, Jenny Lee.

The positivity in the room was enriching to heart and soul.

The night was organised by Brooke supporter Jenny Lee, from Hawkhurst, who was drawn to fundraising for the charity through her work as an Masterson Method equine bodyworker and massage therapist.

Jenny Lee said: “It is always a privilege to promote Brooke and is like ‘pushing at an open door’ to get my clients to support such a meaningful charity.

“My clients invest in bodywork for their horses because they understand how vulnerable horses’ bodies can be to the workload we put on them. Their level of empathy extends to the wider equine and human populations that Brooke work with across the globe.

“Thanks to the sponsorship of our fabulous local equine vet service, RW Equine, we were able to recruit comedy genius Trevor Lock and drag him off the fringe circuit to a rather rainy Kent.

“Trevor is an absolute genius at getting people to connect with each other in the daftest of ways."

In 2024, Jenny ran her own half marathon after the official Hastings one was postponed, raising over £600 for Brooke.
