Annual report and accounts 2024/25

Our achievements this year

In our third full year of our global strategy we worked tirelessly in in fulfilling our three strategic goals:

• This year we have directly reached 1,832,388 horses, donkeys and mules through our health, welfare and training actions
• We have worked with 11,525 communities, indirectly reaching 2,815,609 people through our programmes 
• Our advocacy and campaigning work has gone from strength to strength with six new policies for working horses, donkeys and mules implemented.

A growing movement for change

Every person working, supporting, trained and influenced by Brooke is a member of our movement for change. We all want to create a life worth living for working horses, donkeys and mules around the world. Every positive action takes us closer to our goal. 

Spending money wisely

We are privileged at Brooke to have fantastic supporters who continue to donate their time and money to create a world in which working equines are free from suffering and have a life worth living.

Brooke’s total income for 2024/25 was £24.8m, the second highest income for the organisation and we have worked hard in using those finances to generate the most significant impact possible.  

Looking ahead

This year will bring the start of our planning for our new multi-year organisational strategy to maintain Brooke’s position as thought and implementation leaders in the animal welfare sector. This piece of work is vital in creating a framework and focus for Brooke, so that we can have the most significant impact possible.  

We will also be continuing our tireless work, fighting against the Donkey Skin Trade by building on our recent advocacy successes.
