Giving through your payroll
Payroll Giving or Give As You Earn is a tax-free and easy way for employees to make a regular donation to the Brooke. Gifts are deducted straight from your gross salary, giving immediate tax relief. So, if you choose to donate £10 a month to the Brooke via Payroll Giving, it will only cost you £8.00 if you are a basic rate taxpayer, and even less if you are a higher rate taxpayer
Employers: setting up Give as You Earn (GAYE) is easier than you think
- All you need to do is register with a Payroll Giving Agency (PGA) approved by the Inland Revenue (link opens in new window).
- Once you are registered, all you need to do is send on payroll giving forms you receive from your employees to your PGA and they will do the rest.The PGA is responsible for adding the tax onto a donor's gift and transferring the total sum to the donor's nominated charity.
