Brooke has recruited five new trustees including three from countries it operates in. The trustees, from India, Senegal, Kenya and the UK attended their first board meeting on Wednesday 12 October 2016.

In Ethiopia’s Halaba district, painful and unnecessary wounds caused by ill-fitting or poorly designed bits are common in the gharry horses. These horses pull gharries - carts or carriages used to transport people or goods.
In January 2016, animal health centres in Kofele Woreda, Ethiopia were destroyed during local protests. With the help of Brooke staff, the local community and government, animal health care services are resuming.
