Sue, who is leader of Brooke’s Jedburgh fundraising group, is a member of Les Amis d’Onno, an equestrian display troupe based in the Scottish Borders. Sue has raised money for Brooke at various stunt shows with Les Amis, as well as organising local events like Christmas Fairs.
It was her work with Les Amis – training, riding and grooming horses - that inspired her to fundraise for Brooke.
Our horses are given the best care and attention and are given a good life. Not all working horses are in a situation where they receive such good care, so I feel strongly that I should help these working horses overseas to a better life. Education is so important to help working horses.
Sue's most memorable fundraising activity so far has been taking part in a Vintage Cabaret Act in support of Brooke where she performed a water tank escapology act.
Sue and the Jedburgh group are part of a large network of volunteers fundraising for Brooke around the UK. Money raised from volunteers goes towards Brooke’s work across Africa, Asia and Latin America, making lasting improvements to the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules and the people who depend on them.
