Introducing Dr Scott
TV star Dr Scott Miller is Brooke's donkey skin trade ambassador, fighting against a trade which slaughters donkeys for their skins.
Best known for his role as resident vet on ITV's 'This Morning', Dr Scott has over 20 years of experience as a practicing vet and broadcasting figure.
I am honoured to be an ambassador for Brooke and proud to support its mission.
Born in Brisbane, Australia, Dr Scott studied at the University of Queensland Veterinary School, graduating in 1997 to start his veterinary career at the RSPCA clinic - the country's largest animal hospital and home to the TV series 'Animal Hospital'.
Not long after, he moved to the UK, working all over the country before settling in London to open three vet practices.
Dr Scott is a keen writer, contributing regularly to newspapers and magazines, and publishing 'Puppy Parenting', a guide to caring for puppies.
Dr Scott has supported Brooke since 2005, when he visited Pakistan to help treat working horses, donkeys and mules after a devastasting earthquake.
For Dr Scott, joining Brooke isn't just to help working animals, but "the communities who rely on them every day."
Dr Scott treats a donkey in Pakistan (2005) on a trip to see Brooke's work after an earthquake.
Brooke helps more donkeys than any other charity and delivers sustainable, life-saving care for working animals and communities.
When visiting Brooke in Kenya, he described the trip as inspiring, having “shown me how much can be achieved when we come together to protect these hardworking, gentle animals."
In 2024, Dr Scott also joined Brooke supporters and other ambassadors at a Buckingham Palace reception with Her Majesty The Queen, to mark our 90th anniversary.
Dr Scott is leading the charge against the donkey skin trade, as Brooke predicts Africa could lose half its donkeys by 2040 due to demand for ejiao, a remedy made from their skins, soaring.
During his 2025 Kenya trip, he visited farriers, vet clinics and a donkey shelter which rehomes donkeys affected by the continent's skin trade.
