Review of Mongolia Horse Trek
| In June 2009, twenty seven eager participants embarked on the challenge of a lifetime, trekking 200km across the spectacular landscapes of Mongolia, ‘the land of blue sky’. The challenge has raised a fantastic £91,000 for the Brooke’s work. |

| After a shaky start following several missing bags last seen in Moscow, the groups adventure began in earnest. Participants were paired with horses which were to become their faithful friends for the next ten days.
The group rode through vast open plains, pine valleys and gushing glacial streams, all against a stunning backdrop of snow-capped mountains and blue skies. It was a journey full of challenges with extreme weather and few home comforts, but a truly unforgettable experience due to the people and the riding. | | | |
| An unforgettable experience
It was a trip steeped in local culture and tradition and participants visited the famous Erdene Zuu monastery and Kharkhorin, the historic centre of Genghis Khan’s Mongol Empire.
The challenge was an amazing journey that the group will never forget. Here are just some of the riders’ comments about their experience on the trip:
"An unforgettable experience with a group of great people." Kay
"My horse was darling - lovely to ride and very difficult to leave. Mongolia was amazing- definitely out of this world. It was so refreshing to leave the hassles of 21st century Britain behind for a while." Sheila
"Both my Brooke overseas rides have been amazing, life-enhancing experiences." Anya
"I had a great ride - great horse, great food, great scenery, great people. Really looking forward to the next one and I've started fundraising already. Thanks for making it possible." Chantal
"I had an amazing time; absolutely the trip of a lifetime and I will not forget it." Sarah |
