| The Brooke's first fundraising polo day was a resounding success with over 330 Brooke supporters enjoying the action at Beaufort Polo Club in Gloucestershire, and raising more than £26,000 to fund a new mobile veterinary clinic in Lahore, Pakistan.
Supporters travelled across the country to the historic Cotswolds club to celebrate the Brooke's 75th anniversary and see Oaklands Polo & Country Club from South Africa battle it out with Apes Hill in the final of the Duke of Beaufort's Cup.
During a three course lunch hosted by the Brooke, supporters took part in an auction where winning items inlcuded a luxury week on a private yacht in the Caribbean, an exclusive backstage experience at War Horse and an Argentinean riding adventure all of which were kindly donated by a host of generous benefactors.
The money raised will keep a new mobile veterinary clinic in Pakistan in operation for an entire year enabling a team of animal health experts to reduce the suffering of many thousands of hardworking horses and donkeys in some of the poorest communities in Lahore. |
