| In Kenya, donkeys play an essential role in ensuring food security. For example, their manure enhances crop production and they are essential for transporting fodder for animals providing milk and meat. Hence activities included a speech advocating donkey welfare, calling in particular for owners to stop whipping their animal, alongside demonstrations showing good harnessing and hoof care.
The event attracted almost 600 visitors, all eager have to their questions answered. Among the positive outcomes was a request for de-worming which resulted in the treatment of 40 needy donkeys in Kamore village. |
