International partnerships

The Brooke operates in partnership with a variety of organisations in order to extend the range and impact of our work. Current partnerships include:

Mercy Corps, Pakistan 

The Brooke is working with Mercy Corps in order to improve the welfare of working animals in the area affected by the October earthquake of 2005 through training of women in animal husbandry.

Practical Action, Kenya 

The Brooke is working with Practical Action to provide a sustainable improvement to working animal welfare in Kenya. The success of Practical Action's Programme partly relies upon there being good welfare standards for the workig equine animals.

Kenya Network for Dissemination of Agricultural Technologies (KENDAT), Kenya

The aims of the Brooke funded project are:
1. To improve the welfare of equines in Kenya
2. To work collaboratively with respected welfare organisations
3. To establish sustainable health care of equines

Equinos Sanos Para El Pueblo, Guatemala 

The Brooke established (and continues to fund) a Guatemalan NGO, which aims to improve the welfare of working equines in Guatemala, and elsewhere in Latin America.

Smaller Partnerships

The Brooke also provides funding to a range of smaller animal welfare organisations, including:

  1. Animal Aid Unlimited, Udaipur, India
  2. Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land, working in Palestinian villages in the West Bank, and Arab villages in Israel
  3. Grameen Evam Krishi Vikas Samiti (GKVS), India
