Gifts in Wills left to charities come in different forms: you can leave all or part of your estate remaining after family, friends and pets have been looked after (residue); you can leave an outright gift (a specific dollar amount or a specific asset – securities, real estate or tangible personal property or you can leave a contingent bequest – American Friends of the Brooke will receive a bequest in the event of the death of other named beneficiaries.
