Tetanus appeal update

A donkey recovered from tetanusYour response to our tetanus appeal has been generous and heartwarming. Your help is enabling our vets to save thousands more animals from this fatal disease.

Animals with the disease suffer severe muscle stiffness and struggle to eat and breathe, whilst also becoming hyper sensitive to sound, touch and light.

Left untreated, these poor animals will simply die.

Your kind donations have been a major boost to our three-point action plan, which prevents tetanus with vaccinations, treats horses and donkeys suffering the distressing disease, and perhaps most importantly, trains communities in awareness of early symptoms.

Many animals and owners have already benefited. A Brooke training session enabled Indian brick kiln worker Sonu to spot tetanus in the foal he had bought with money he had struggled for many years to save. Our vets saved the foal and with it Sonu’s livelihood.

A huge thank you to everyone who has given.
