Better future for animals
| Change does take time, but we believe that animals can work happily and healthily if proper care is taken of them. By identifying the main welfare issues, and running owner training programmes, Brooke teams give animal owners the knowledge they need to be able to take better care of their animals in the long-term. |
|
| To create a positive long-term impact on the welfare of working horses, donkeys and mules, giving their owners and users the information they need to better care for their animals is essential.
We are ensuring a healthier, happier future for animals in two ways: | | | |
- We believe 80% of the suffering of the animals we help is preventable, making the training work we do with communities vital
- In many of those communities, traditional myths and harmful remedies often prevail so we encourage people to leave old harmful beliefs behind.
- By explaining the benefits of simple things like regular rest, water and shade we help to ensure better future welfare for thousands of animals
| | | |
- To help us make sure our resources are targeting the most needful working animals and the communities they work in, we partner with the University of Bristol's School of Veterinary Science.
- The result of this observational research is information that gives us a detailed idea of what the big problems are locally and what may be causing them.
- This helps us to give the most effective advice to animal owners and local people.
