Spokespeople at the Brooke
| Our spokespeople can comment on the following topics: international development; animal welfare; role of working animals in supporting livelihoods; UK and international fundraising; working with NGOs and the importance of integrating animal health and husbandry into emergency relief .

 | | | Mike Baker, Chief Executive
Mike Baker has been dedicated to animal welfare for 15 years, joining the Brooke in July 2001. Previously, Mike worked as UK Director at the International Fund for Animal Welfare and as Chief Executive of the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection. Mike was appointed to the Government's advisory Animals Procedures Committee whilst at BUAV, and has also led Amnesty International UK's Parliamentary Unit. In 2006 Mike was elected President of Eurogroup for Animal Welfare. |
 | | | John Trampleasure, Director of Fundraising & Communications
John Trampleasure has been working at a senior level in charities in the social welfare, health, environmental and animal welfare/international development sectors for many years. John regularly speaks at conferences and seminars on charity fundraising, communications, marketing and management issues, as well as successful business cultures. He writes for publications in the sector, and has regularly contributed to radio and TV programmes concerned with charity fundraising issues. |

John Greany has worked at the Brooke since 2005 and is responsible for planning and supporting fieldwork activities in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. In 2005 he worked alongside teams from Brooke Pakistan in the earthquake affected area of North West Frontier Province. John was educated at Oxford and Sandhurst, and served in the army for seven years. He is now studying for a Masters in Development Studies and Arabic at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). |
 | | | Julia Macro, Head of Programme Development
Julia Macro joined the Brooke in April 2006, and is responsible for developing and implementing programmes that focus on the link between working animal health and sustainable livelihoods. Following the Pakistan earthquake in 2005, Julia has been working closely with Mercy Corps and Brooke teams to set up an education programme to equip thousands of women in the region with the skills to look after their working animals. Previously Julia worked at the International Organisation of Migration, and has a degree in Ecology and Conservation, a diploma in International Relations. Julia is a qualified veterinary nurse.
